This Minitex Short Course: Cataloging Foundations 1: Copy Cataloging for Beginners is designed to take 4-6 weeks with readings, recorded videos, and quizzes. Students will focus on applying the MARC 21 encoding standard and RDA metadata standard to copy cataloging. This course will focus on foundational principles, the MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Records, access points for names and subjects, and elements of description in bibliographic records.
