About the Minnesota Libraries Learning Network
The MLLN and its learning platform deliver training and resources to library workers and their supporters, focusing on practical skills relevant to current library operations. The program complements formal library education by working in collaboration with existing programs.
Who We are
The MLLN Coordinating Council represents libraries and library support organizations of all types and provides leadership on program content and direction. The Council brings together the Minnesota library organizations that support professional development in order to identify and address broad, statewide needs and priorities. Organizations represented on the Council include:
- State Library Services
- Multicounty Multitype Library Systems
- Council of Regional Public Library System Administrators
- Minitex
- Minnesota Library Association (including Information and Technology Educators of Minnesota, Public Library Division, Academic and Research Library Division)
- MNPALS
- St. Catherine University MLIS program
- Minneapolis College LIT program
- St Cloud State Media program (vacant)
- Mankato State Media program (vacant)
- Capitol Area Library Consortium (vacant)
How we do our work
The MLLN platforms and web services are funded by State Library Services, the Multitypes, and Minitex, with participating organizations contributing time and resources. The Council fulfills its mission by maintaining an online presence, supporting an LMS system, identifying training needs, guiding content creation, organizing a promotional calendar of learning opportunities, and promoting continuing education to libraries.
